Mr. James H. Collins, age 84 of Marietta, GA died Saturday, July 24, 2010. Mr. Collins was a Korean Conflict era U.S. Air Force veteran. He graduated from Georgia State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Mr. Collins was the founder of Collins and Associates, C.P.A.'s, one of the first public accounting firms in Cobb County. He was a member of Olive Springs Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher and church treasurer for many years. Mr. Collins was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the Lodge and was honored for 50 years of membership. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty Anne Ragsdale Collins. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Lonnie Ingram of Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Teresa Collins of Marietta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry R. and Janice Collins of Livingston, TX; Willie and Lynn Collins of Florida and Mac and Julie Collins of Jackson, GA; grandchildren, Scott (Tracy) McNabb of Cumming; Jeff McNabb of Marietta; Jeremy Collins of Lawrenceville; Julie Collins and Tyler Collins, both of Marietta and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta with Dr. Randy Cheek and Dr. Marion Beaver officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with Masonic graveside rites and military honors. The family will receive friends Monday evening, July 26 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta (770) 424-4924.

To the family of Jim Collins - So sorry to hear about your loss. We used Jim and Betty for many years to do our taxes, and they were always the most caring and wonderful people. The world is a lesser place with their passing,and they will be fondly remembered.
