SAN DIEGO (AP) — Federal authorities in San Diego have conducted searches and made arrests involving a drug cartel’s alleged cross-border crimes.

The U.S. attorney’s office has scheduled a news conference to discuss Friday’s operation.

FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth says the operations were conducted in San Diego. He says many people have been charged in what he described as a cross-border investigation into Mexico. He declined to discuss the specific charges.

U.S. attorney’s spokeswoman Debra Hartman says the investigation is tied to a drug cartel’s alleged activities.

Fantastic! I saw a television show recently where a family of four were kidnapped, their truck and trailer stolen and they escaped with their lives after being put face down in a ditch and prepared to die from shot in the head. By the grace of God and some very courageous heroes, they made it back to U.S. border. Nothing could be done. No authority in Mexico. More than one way to go at a problem, eh? Kudos.
