Former Dodgen Middle School principal Jim Snell, who is challenging technology consultant and Sope Creek Elementary School dad Scott Sweeney in the Republican primary for a chance to represent Post 6 on the Cobb school board, reports that he is honored to be endorsed by Roger Hines, a former state representative and former Cobb County Teacher of the Year. Until recently, Hines was a candidate for State School Superintendent.

Snell has also announced his interactive website. In addition to offering campaign priority information, the site includes opportunities for constituents from Post 6 to communicate their priorities directly to the candidate.

Snell said he wants to develop a constituent database in order to gather input regarding issues of interest to residents of Post 6.

The website, www.jsnellpost6.com is maintained exclusively by Snell.

From Jim Snell's campaign blog site I have cut and paste the following statement. After you read it, please check it out yourself if it has not been taken down. Just write back if it has been taken down, I will save a copy of the page.

P.S. I made no edits.

"We have to consider less popular options. Under normal circumstances I would never suggest something as evil as a millage rate increase. Folks, these are not normal times. The budget input survey completed by over 23,000 Cobb County residents offered this as one of their top suggestions. Probably not going to make me popular as a fellow running for political office. Oh well. I feel in my heart it is the right thing..."

When did Roger start to endorse candidates who support tax increases? Especially in times of recession.

I must admit that I am more than a little shocked but I guess politics makes for strange bed-fellows is the old saying
