Cobb School board admits illegal vote on outsourcing employee dismissal tribunals ...

Follows Rules wrote - If this were a CCSD bus driver or paraprofessional, they would be fired the next day. Why do employees on the low end of the pay scale need to obey the rules exactly and this board can interpret what they obey and what they don't? Is there some hypocrisy and arrogance here? You bet there is!

Anothernecobber wrote - Once again, a board member not listening or paying attention in a meeting. David Banks, were you and David Morgan playing games on your computers?

NE Cobb mom wrote - Hey David Banks, pay ATTENTION to this. We only have two more miserable years of you on this school board, NOT paying attention. Can't wait to see you go.

It cannot get worse wrote - This dishonest and incompetent board and administration can never regain the trust and confidence of the public and the teachers. They just need to hang it up if they really care about students.

Anonymous wrote - Can we get some charges pressed, instead of just talking about how they violate the law time and again? They obviously do not know how to correct their behavior.

Here we go again wrote - Lynnda Crowder-Eagle caught again. In six months as board chair, her record is already as bad as John Abraham's.

Westcobb wrote - Why do violations of the Open Meetings Act happen time after time with this BOE? The flippant attitude by most members toward holding to the letter of the law reveals the foundation of their troubles: They simply do not strive to attain flawless execution. More puzzling: Why is it so difficult for board counsel to ensure violations do not occur?

Whatdiduexpect wrote - Surely a revelation of the board's secrecy is not surprising!

Jackie Moon wrote - It doesn't matter if it's not "Watergate," it's illegal and it has been happened many times. You know it's illegal and you keep doing it anyway. You people are arrogant and obviously think that you are above the law. What if this was one of your teachers? I bet you would be highly upset at one of them if they said "It's not Watergate."

Fallguyx wrote - CCSD is not above the law and should be held accountable.

Voice of Reason wrote - It is amazing how many good people are teaching in Cobb, but the representation at the top doesn't reflect that.

Current Cobb Teacher wrote - I have worked with/for three of the people on the panelist list, and I know them to be above-board, fair-minded, honorable people. I also know they have continued to work for CCSD in a part-time capacity since their retirement. That is a conflict of interest. Being the above-board, fair-minded, honorable people they are, I would think they would recuse themselves.

Word to the Wise wrote - Watergate it is not, but the distrust that has been created is as great.

Rjsnh wrote - This is not ignorance of the law, rather it is arrogance regarding the law. Imagine what would happen if the children in our classrooms had no more respect for doing what was right. Teachers have been dismissed for less serious infractions of the rules. And, further, to think we are paying the school board attorney millions of our tax dollars to knowingly flaunt the laws that are supposed to protect us from secret meetings is more than disturbing. We need a new board, again.

CobbVoter wrote - Do these folks truly believe they are bulletproof from the media and public scrutiny? They bark about saving money, they bark about budget. They sugarcoat and spoon feed the manure they walk in, yet ride the high horse. They scream about money, and let go valued and needed educators, yet in a total act of stupidity allow the transportation department to spend major bucks to renumber buses!

More attorneys fees wrote - I'm sure the teachers going through this process are thrilled their "impartial" tribunal members are being trained by the law firm they will be facing at the hearing. Nothing unfair about that!

West Cobb Parent wrote - How can a board continue to act illegally and have no accounting for those acts? Mr. Banks, you seem to not pay attention a good deal of the time. Perhaps it would be better for you to resign so someone who will actually work in the best interest of their constituents can be brought in. You are not that person. It is a disgrace for Cobb to have a board like this.

Former Cobb Teacher wrote - Absolutely dreadful. That's all I can say about it.

I,again, was apalled at Linda Crowder Eagle's conduct at the last CCBE meeting. Does she not realize she can be on camera at any time. She sat & mad faces behind (her suppossedly buddy),Banks, as Dr. Crooks has done with Alison Bartlett in meetings gone past. Glad my kids were not watching her as a role model.
