Mrs. Jean B. Cooper, age 88, born June 12, 1921 in Ft. Scott, Kansas passed away, Saturday, June 5, 2010. After completing high school in Ft. Scott Kansas, she graduated from Western Kentucky University School of Music. She taught music to all grades. She married Thomas D. Cooper and moved to Tallahassee, Florida where they raised their family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, of sixty years and her parents, Ray and Margaret Baxter. She is survived by her three children, Martha "Marty" Myers and her husband Frank, Thomas D. Cooper Jr. and his wife Ginny and Nancy Jean Lowe along with five grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 8, 2010, from 12:00 until the time of the service. Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Cooper's life will be held at 1:30, in the chapel at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs, GA, 30328. Interment will be held in Tallahassee, Florida at a later date. Arrangements are by H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Altus House Hospice Foundation, #1 Dunwoody Park, Suite 128, Atlanta, GA 30338.
