Alwayne Holcombe, 88 of White, Georgia died Friday, May 14, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta with Rev. Chuck Whitaker and Rev. Gerry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Awayne lived most of her life in Cobb County. She was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Marietta. Alwayne was a very special lady that was loving and gentle to everyone. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Holcombe is survived by two daughters, Annette Smith & her husband, Charles L. of Talking Rock; Carole Barber & her husband, Don of White; two sisters, Mozelle Boggs of Decatur; Emma Lou Simpson & her husband, Eugene of Woodstock; one brother, Ed Davis & his wife, Agnes of Marietta; a sister-in-law, Esther Davis of Marietta; three grandchildren, Sylvia Odom & her husband Robert of Epworth; Donnie Barber & his wife, Shari of Holly Springs; Todd Barber of Savannah; five great grandchildren, Robert C. Odom, Lance Parrish, Jamie Barber, Rebekah Barber, Judson Barber; several nieces & nephews. Alwayne was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Holcombe.
