Catherine Burgess, 95, of Louisville, KY (formerly of Marietta) died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Parkway Medical Center in Kentucky. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a life long member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church in Marietta. Catherine was known lovingly to those who knew her as "Cacky." She was a retired bookkeeper for Wholeproof Hosiery. Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Lynn Burgess Northcutt; granddaughter, Leigh Ann Northcutt Yost; great-grandsons, McLain and Sam Yost all of Louisville; sister, Margaret Barkesdale of Marietta, GA and many nieces, nephews and their children. Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her parents, Horace & Nannie Lou Newsome Hyde; husband, William Andrew Burgess; sister, Evelyn Brimer, son-in-law "Mac" Northcutt, and niece, Wanell Shaw all formerly of Marietta.
