Edward Loil "Eddie" Tucker, 74, of Acworth, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with remains placed in state in the church at 1:00. The Rev. Talmadge Dean, the Rev. Joey Dubois, and the Rev. Jerry Moody will officiate with burial following in the Rolling Hills Memory Gardens. Mr. Tucker was born December 8, 1935 in Atco, GA, son of the late Rev. Dewey and Bell Spivey Tucker. He was inducted into the US Army in 1958. He was the owner/operator of Eddie Tucker Hauling, retiring in 2004, and was a member of Operating Engineers #926. An avid motorcyclist and NASCAR fan, Eddie was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, and his loving son, Scott. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Jean Tucker of Acworth; sister and brother in law, Jane and Marvin Maddox of Acworth; one aunt and uncle, several nieces, nephews, brothers in law, and sisters in law also survive. The family wishes to thank Homestead Hospice for their loving care during Eddie's final days. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main Street Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
