Robert E. (Rusty) Barfield, age 60, of Carrabelle, Florida, passed away on April 2, 2010, in Tallahassee, FL, following a valiant battle against cancer. Rusty was born in Marietta, Georgia on August. 11, 1949, and graduated from Marietta High School in 1967. Following graduation, he joined the Naval Reserves stationed at Dobbins ARB at that time. He retired from Bellsouth in 1998 after 30 years of faithful service. He then fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a waterfront home in Florida, and moved to Carrabelle in 1999 where he has lived for the past 11 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie M. Barfield, and brother-in-law, James (Cuz) Dunn, both of whom were natives of Marietta. Rusty is survived by his wife, Wanda Faye Corley Barfield, of Carrabelle, FL; sons Brian Barfield of Louisville, GA; and Jason Barfield of Five Points, AL; mother, Paulene (Polly) Barfield of Marietta; sister, Linda Barfield Dunn also of Marietta; grandchildren, Reagan, Logan, Madisen and Celicia Barfield.
