U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, the oldest member of the court and also one of its most liberal members, has announced his retirement. His successor will be nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate.

Who do you think Obama should nominate? Hillary Clinton? Gov. Jennifer Granholm of Michigan? Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts? Should he put top priority on diversifying the court’s ethnic/gender makeup? And should he pick the most liberal successor he can find, or a someone more moderate than Stevens?
