Bill is first step toward government-run health care

DEAR EDITOR:

I think you should reword your article on health care. Instead of referring to it as "historic" you may want to say something like "the second major terrorist attack on American freedom since 9/11/01." This bill is a travesty! The majority of Americans were against it, the majority of doctors are against it, (despite the little charade at the White House with the hand-picked doctors in white coats). Yet it is being shoved down our throats anyway.

Don't think for a minute the Democrats give a damn about health care. What they are after is government control of health care. This is their first step, mark my words. If they were truly concerned about the so-called 30 million uninsured, they would have expanded Medicaid and given them a card. No, this is about the slow transition to socialized medicine. This president is a deep-down socialist, make no mistake about it. They already have their filthy paws in the banks, school loans, auto companies and the list goes on.

When Obama or Pelosi are standing up there gloating how this bill will reduce the deficit and create jobs, ask your self one question: When has the government enacted any program that has cut the deficit? Every government program, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc., is so far in the red we will never be able to dig ourselves out. The people of this country better wake up before it's too late. One day soon we will wake up and wonder what has happened to our once great nation.

I urge everyone, come November, vote out every Democrat, bar none. And in the next presidential election, vote Obama out!

Dr. Michael Palmieri

Heaventree, Why don't you post your real name so you can show the readers what a real fool you are, instead of hiding behind a screen name? I have gone to a chiropractor many times, and I trust them to help me more than any other doctor I have been to. I have had unbearable back pain for years, I could not even walk to my truck. It was when I went to a Chiropractor that I found relief.

Well, "Dr." Palmieri, I know what chiropractic is. What's the right term? Pseudo-science? Gobbledegook? Flim-flam? Sucker's bet? Long con? Nonsense? Bunk? Bamboozle?

The ignorance of some people that post here is sad. I just want to say if you don't know what Chiropractic is, then do not comment on it. It is the that same ignorance that has put this country in the shape its in, where people have become totally dependent on government for everything. I can only hope the intelligent among us can out number the ignorant. To all of you who support my letter, I thank you. Dr. M. Palmieri

Dr. P, I agree with your assessment except for one thing: I think we have woken up, the problem is we are almost outnumbered by the short-sighted and uneducated who don't understand that in the REAL world where the rest of us live, everything costs money. They don't seem to grasp the concept that the government doesn't have any money, except what it steals from its citizens. I hope there are still more of us than people like "Heaventree' down there, but I'm "GettinWorried'

Heaventree - you are trying to make a joke - but don't be too sure this isn't exatly what is in our future. This is in deed the first step toward government control of most of our lives. I can just see it now, if GM needs to sell more cars, they can pass a law saying everyone whose car is more than 4 years old most trade it in for a new GM. Fair fetched - not so much. The fact remains that over 60% of the people opposed this bill, eevn while the demos pated themselves on the back about responding to the American people, and 79% now believe that the US can collapse. But then, people with their heads in the sand, or somewhere else, want to make fun of those who see the reality of where we are headed and what this debt/deficit is and will do toe everyone - except of course, those in power who will continue to exempt themselves from any of the consequences.

What Doc?, I know the part bugging your chiropractic practice the most is the part of the Obama bill that attacks waste and fraud..you probably won't get to bill weekly "adjustments" and electro stimulation therapy and water bed treatments anymore.

So, why don't you advise seniors to opt out of Medicare when they turn 65, and forgo the drug benefit programs in favor of weekly back crackings.
