Hosted by the MHS Alumni Society, part of the Marietta Schools Foundation, the casual tailgate theme bash is March 27 from 7-11 p.m. at the Marietta Hilton Conference Center, located at 500 Powder Springs St. The event is open to anyone 21 years or older. There will be a $99 room rate available. Visit www1.hilton.com for more information.
"We will welcome any and all supporters, not just graduates," event chair Dawn Dunaway McEachern said.
An opportunity for all classes and supporters of Marietta High School to collectively get together, alumni spanning more than seven decades are expected to attend. "It's exciting and creates a lot of momentum," she said.
"The response was almost instantaneous and has been strong and enthusiastic for such an event," the 1989 MHS graduate added.
In addition to sharing memories, guests will enjoy a menu of old-fashioned mini sliders, mini pups hot dogs, chicken fingers, nachos and Blue Devil cake. There will be a cash bar, and entertainment will be provided by A & R Sounds Entertainment.
Tickets are $40 per person or $70 per couple at the door and free to alumni teachers. To purchase, visit www.mariettaschoolsfoundation.com or mail a check payable to Marietta Schools Foundation or Marietta Alumni Society and mail to: Marietta Alumni Society, PO Box 1265, Marietta, GA 30061. For more information, call (770) 427-1012 or visit the Blue Devil Bash Facebook page.
"Our goal is to reconnect with friends and reconnect with our school as well as establish a networking support group," McEachern said. "The school system is one of Marietta's strongest assets. This is a way we can give back, continue to support and ensure that our traditions and school system stays as strong as it has been."
