I’ve decided You Tube is the new Sunday evening Lawrence Welk at my house. I finally took some time to play on the computer last evening, tired of controversies, politics, the economy and the never ending rants about health care.

On rare occasions, I’ll play on the You Tube site, finding my favorite performers, singers usually, from the past. It’s fun to see some of these old songs played now, and a great change from the pirate song CD we play all the time in the mommy van.

Freddie Mercury singing Bohemian Rhapsody is a favorite. Some of the old Motown hits are great to watch, and I love finding new things, like classical guitar performances.

A real kick is a guy named Nick Pitera. He’s carved out a unique niche as a You Tube vocalist who sings duets — both parts, the man’s and woman’s. It’s not a falsetto, but his real voice. I think.

When you see the nice looking young guy do a soprano "Over the Rainbow," well, you just can’t stop watching. It would be creepy if he wasn’t so darned talented. I love his "O Holy Night" too.

So last evening, the lineup went some-thing like this: A little vintage Steppen-wolf, the unclassifiable Pitera and then an old fave... The Dixie Chicks.

Yep, I’ve decided to forgive them for what they did back at the beginning of the war, badmouthing Bush before an overseas crowd. They’re just too darned cute and talented to stay mad at forever.

If you’re tired of Hannity, and there’s nothing else on TV you want to watch, waste a little time on You Tube. Put together your own Sunday evening Lawrence Welk. It’s a good change of pace, and a whole lotta fun.

Working for the fleet maintenance dept. I find myself on the computer alot to escape a little and have some time to myself! Going to a job with a knot in your stomach due to stress is never a good thing! On a personal note.. I prefer the Lovell sisters from Ga. A progressive country bluegrass sound with amazing harmonies!
