Mrs. Jeraldean "Gerrye" Scoggins age 79 of Smyrna, passed away Monday March 1. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday March 4 from the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with the Rev. John Gaissert officiating. Interment will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. A longtime resident of Smyrna, Mrs. Scoggins retired from the hospitality industry after over twenty years to become a homemaker and support her husbands' business and political careers. She served as Bill Scoggins personal political advisor, campaign manager, and technology advisor. Gerrye's passions were baking, beagles, and begonias. Surviving are: Sons- Chris Wright of Buford; Richard (Cathy) Wright of Camp Douglas, WI; Bill (Lori) Scoggins of Sugar Hill; Daughters- Jo (Tom) Dolan of Marietta; Lisa (Jim) Bacon of Norcross; Michele (John) Gaissert of Nicholson; Gayle (Carlos) Polo of Miami; Teresa (David) Stringfield of Martinez; Brother- Doyle (Lucy) Cavnor of Hot Springs, AR; 16 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren. Those who wish may make contributions to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday March 3 at the funeral home.
