My inbox was overflowing last week. Here’s some of what readers wanted to tell me. Thanks for the feedback, folks.

The article series is great. Please let the management know that some of us think this town is going to go straight to the dogs if they don’t start outing some of the many jerks in Marietta about on a regular basis. It’d be great for your pageviews, and God knows we could use some housecleaning around here. The Busch-Wiles Brouhaha is just one of probably half a dozen icky messes that need to see the light of day. Ooh, could you please do sleazy bankers next? People would LOVE it.

Shame on you for writing the article about the party in the Marietta Country Club. The woman has not even been charged yet and already you make her out to be a terrible person. You are an awful editor and should seriously consider what you have done. Most people would join a paper to write about good news in their city, not to exploit a person you barely even know. Obviously a judge would have more sense than to give kids alcohol, did you ever think about that? Also, there was no reason to mention the Marietta Country Club or The Walker School. You obviously were talking about them in a derogatory manner and I do not think people appreciate that. Shame on you, I am appalled.

***

The irony of a member of the State Judiciary Committee trying to talk an officer out of issuing a citation to a “star athlete” that obviously had broken the law is a story readers would like to hear more of – including the senator’s defense of his actions.

Just a suggestion. Keep doing a great job!

Really? You are a part of local news and you are ripping apart an innocent persons life? Do you realize that there is a news team in this woman's neighborhood, so basically she cannot even go outside? Why are you out to get her? You are a selfish pig.

I would like to thank you for covering the recent fiasco involving the Cobb County Judge and State Senator. That was perhaps, a real eye opener, for those who were not familiar with the transparent corruption going on in that courthouse.

***

Please keep us informed about the recent teens who were drinking and the Chicago type Marietta lawyers and judges who keep protecting family members and friends from any consequences. Thanks to Otis Brumby, to you, and to the newspaper staff for letting us know about things that would be hidden from the public if not for your seeking the truth. I suppose that in the future, any underage drunks will be sentenced to baseball, football, soccer, or cheerleading practice as community service.

This also might change our way of looking at people who are making decisions as judges and as representatives of the citizens of Cobb County.

I have to take issue with the OM statement--most of the people at Walker are a bunch of social climbers. OM people send their kids to MHS, aka the real world.

Thank you for your pursuit of this story amid all the name calling and finger pointing it has caused.

Walker and those associated with it have existed in their own little bubble for awhile now, and should have seen this coming. It has gone from a school with modest roots to an overpriced daycare for parents to shelter their children from the glare of reality.

I dare say public school has the same issues and warts as Walker, probably more, but when you mess up, you are forced to deal with the consequences.

Perhaps something Walker should consider.

Look it's as simple as this, and trust me when I say that I know quite a lot about Walker, the kids that go there and their parents. Yes, they have some good kids there, smart kids, kids that give back to their community, but the administration and the Board behind them cover up far more then what has been printed here. There is a huge amount of drinking going on and there are more parents that allow it to be done in their home than just Ms. Busch. There has been public misconduct (drive-thru incident), football games with drinking, theft on campus (admin. knew who did it and yet nothing happened), special grades for special circumstances, and I could go on and on. It really has nothing to do with economics, it has to do with OM's protecting OM's (that's Old Marietta for those of you from elsewhere)and saving the now tarnished reputation of the school. The Headmaster once said, (during another fiasco)"the buck stops here" so maybe that is where the school should start it's recovery. Isn't it time for his $1M golden parachute to kick in anyway?

Don't put too much blame on the kids, they've had no consequences from their school and no direction from their parents. I applaud the MDJ for finally printing the truth. It is long overdue!

I think the revelation of the "complete" story of the teen drinking party and the behavior of the adults will be helpful and a true learning experience and opportunity for betterment for the participants, the law enforcement officials, the solicitors office, Walker School and even some parents. Keep up the excellent journalism !
