Mr. James Edward " Ed" Alverson, 93 years old, passed from this life in Altus House Hospice Care on February 22, 2010. Mr. Alverson was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Earl and Delia Alverson, on April 26, 1916. Mr. Alverson was of the Baptist faith and a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Smyrna, Georgia where he spent most of his life. He was married to Elma (Toni) Adair Alverson, for 66 years until her death in 2003. Mr. Alverson was also preceded in death by his parents, and his only sibling Mary Alverson Baker. Mr. Alverson had an extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit and was always thinking a step ahead of the times. He was a most diligent worker who went about his work with great expectations and passion. He had a love of classic cars and had an unquestionable talent of being able to restore an auto frame with many pieces and boxes of parts to a beautiful portion of the past. He enjoyed being chauffeur to several of his grandchildren in his restored White Cloud Rolls Royce as they left the church on their wedding days. Even as he declined with sever dementia he brought laughter with his many silly rhymes and joy with his beautiful singing voice. He will be truly missed. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Frank and Janice McMonigle, Villa Rica, Diane Bishop and Ed Hartlieb, Waleska, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 25, 2010, 11 o'clock from J. Collins Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in West Georgia Memorial Park. J.
