MARIETTA - Two men have been booked into Cobb County Jail, accused of being involved in a string of armed robberies that occurred in Marietta on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7.

Alejandro Eulogio Garcia and Joel Cruz, both of Marietta, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault murder and several counts of armed robbery. Police said the men were involved in several robberies, two of which resulted in shootings on Franklin Road in the early morning of Feb. 7.

According to Marietta Police, at about 12:40 a.m., Garcia and Cruz approached a man in front of the Flagstone Village Apartments at 849 Franklin Road and demanded money from him. Both men were wearing blue bandanas covering their faces, police said, and Garcia was carrying a black revolver, while Cruz had a knife. The two men held the victim at gunpoint and when the victim tried to run away from his attackers, Garcia shot him three times, police said.

The victim was able to return to his apartment later, where he called 911 and was transported to Kennestone Hospital.

That same morning, around 12:56 a.m., Garcia and Cruz approached a group of men behind El Cuate nightclub at 677 Franklin Road and demanded money from them, police said. Garcia shot one of the victims in the neck, while Cruz held them all at knifepoint, police said.

Police received the 911 call about 20 minutes after responding to the first incident. In both cases, the men were wearing blue bandanas to cover their faces and fled the scene on foot, police said.

Also, according to Cruz's warrant, he is being charged with another armed robbery earlier that night around 11:15 p.m. at 861 Franklin Road, the same address as Las Colinas Apartments. The warrant states that Cruz, along with an unidentified gunman, robbed two men at knife and gunpoint at the address. Police could not be reached for further details in this incident.

Marietta Police Officer Jenny Murphy said the investigation is ongoing and police would not release the suspects' mug shots because several victims have not yet been to the police station to identify the suspects in a line-up.

Both men are in custody at the Cobb County Jail without bond.

...fyi,... yeah, real lazy-- I worked 7 days a week for 10 years to have a decent home, only to have the drug cartel set up shop in the house next door,...yeah, I'm kinda forced to live in the run down ruins of Smyrna,(since our house values are worth nothing & its impossible to sell a good home in Smyrna Heights)--..OR, guess I could walk away from my house that I've worked hard as a law-abiding citizen to have almost paid off & just become homeless. See, the easy way for people now, is, instead of having intergity,.. just lie, cheat & steal your way to the top. There is no such thing as an honest days work anymore. And it's people like you, k2, that are ensuring the demise of our once great country.

Thanks alot!

give them papers and they will find legal jobs. which will pay them the legal mininum wage. or else they will find any way to feed there families here or where they came from. 12mil immigrants * $1000 to start there legal papers = 12trillion. guess what? america would be out of debt. not counting how many new jobs that will be created and the fresh new taxes that will be paid. and by the way 12mil immigrants is just 2005 data.

Let's just keep on bringing in more & more of these criminals! The guys living in the grand homesteds, protected by their gated communities make mucho denero off the cheap labor,... while regular ol' American's such as myself are forced to live amongst the danger, deteriorated neighborhoods & lost house values! Ain't America grand?,......not any more,... my America's gone!

Why was their immigration status not stated? Just two more cares of hard working illegals who steal their way into our country, steal identities, steal jobs, destroy our neighborhoods, hospitals and schools. Make sure any family members are deported immediately, because they are implicit as well.

"Alejandro Eulogio Garcia and Joel Cruz, both of Marietta..."

Somehow I don't think these two are actually "from Marietta..."

What's the over/under on whether they have green cards?
