DEAR EDITOR:

Your editorial, "The Kennesaw House" stimulated my urge to write this letter.

I feel very fortunate that Marietta Mayor Steve "Thunder" Tumlin was elected. I was so tired of reading the discontent between Mayor Bill Dunaway and Councilman Philip Goldstein; in fact, I quit reading some of the articles. Tumlin does not seem to have an "ego" problem. He doesn't even need to have a special parking space. He listens to each of our concerns and I am especially happy that he supports the Marietta Museum of History. How else could we share the history of our great city and county when we have visitors from out of town? It seems that so much history is lost; the museum is a great place to take visitors.

Even though several great books have been written about Cobb, my visitors are not going to read them. I do hope that the history museum can continue to become more vibrant and also be expanded to include the first floor of the Kennesaw House.
