Mr. Willis C. Barre of Marietta, GA died February 01, 2010. Will was born in Williamsport, Ohio October 10, 1924. He was the son of W.C. and Pearl Barre. He was proud to serve in the Navy on tanker USS Saranac during WW II. After receiving an Electrical Engineering degree at Ohio Northern, he came to work for Lockheed in 1962 and retired in 1986. He was a member of East Cobb United Methodist Church and The Friendship Sunday School Class. Will is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shirley Barre; daughters, Wanda (Dr. Alan) Bowles of Ottawa, Canada, Bonnie (Larry) Wilson of LaGrange, GA, Elaine Day of Canton, GA, Jan Beasenburg of Atlanta, GA and Carol Miller of Atlanta, GA.; granddaughters, Holly, Dori, Lauren and Margaret; grandsons, Jason Bowles, Kevin (Natalie) Bowles and great-grandson, Zack Miller; loving nieces and nephews and the boating and camping friends from Lockheed - Longhollow. In addition to his parents, Will was predeceased by his wife, Louise Barre; brothers, Henry Clay Barre, Wesley and his wife, "Jackie" Barre; sister, Aldine and her husband, Gerald Beam and son, "Chuck" Barre. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at East Cobb United Methodist Church in Marietta. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery. Reverend Dr. Brian Germano and Jim Perry will officiate in celebration of Willis' life. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
