William E. "Bill" Wright, Jr., 86, of Marietta, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Bill was born in Virginia on April 18, 1923 to Rosa and William Wright. He retired from Lockheed in 1988 and previously worked with Daniels Construction in Greenville, South Carolina. He also served as an adjunct professor of economics at the University of Georiga. Bill served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theatre of Operations and graduated from Oglethorpe University and Georgia Tech. He loved history, books, music, old movies and being with friends and family. He was a devoted fan of Georgia Tech football. A positive attitude, pleasing disposition and genuine interest in life endeared Bill to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Nadine Orr Wright, of Marietta; one son, Charles Wright of Asheville, NC; three daughters, Cheryl Marsh, of Marietta, Elizabeth Samach of Larchmont, NY, and Judy Higgins of Atlanta; one sister, Daisy Adler; ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Mr. Wright was predeceased by his first wife, Betty J. Wright and a son, Michael Hunter. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384.
