Mr. Walter Thomas Harris, Jr., age 85, of Carrollton, Georgia, formally of Kennesaw passed away Friday, January 8, 2010. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Horizon Bay Assisted Living in Carrollton, Georgia at 3:00pm with the Reverend Neal Ponder officiating. Mr. Harris was born on December 13, 1924 in Parkin, Arkansas. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy and later a civil engineer for Lockheed. Survivors include his children, Susan Robbins (Randy) of San Antonio, TX, Ann Barber (John) of Marietta, Tom Harris (Susan) of Marietta, Carol Bass of Kennesaw, Mary Ray (Danny) of Douglasville, Denise Tumlin (Mike) of Acworth, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. His wife Barbara, following 56 years of marriage, preceded him in death. West Georgia Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
