Clinton "John" Covey, 71, of Marietta passed away Thursday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2p.m. from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Robert Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw. John was married to his wife for 44 years, Harriett Covey from Meadville, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and CeCelia Covey of Dillard, OR. John is survived by wife, Harriett Covey; children Tim and Tammy Turley, Mike and Stephanie Covey, Matt and Vickie Stokes; grandchildren Kayla Minter, Brandon Turley, Kristie Turley, Devon Covey, Blake Stokes and Katie Stokes; sisters Betty Ann Rennich, Barbara Gordon, Marvel Lee Seaman. Preceded in death by his younger brother, Michael Muyers Covey. John graduated in 1957 from Norton High School, Crescent City, Ca. He was a Honorable Discharged Veteran from the U.S. Airforce after serving our country for four years. He retired from GTE Lenkurt after 23 years, then went to work with Verison and retired after 12 years. John was a Family man, loved to hunt, VP of the Snellville Hunting Club, loved his vegetable garden and was an avid woodworker and overall handyman. The Family will receive Friends, Sunday 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
