Dan Thompson Sr., 84, Marietta, passed away on Saturday. Mr. Thompson proudly served in the United States Navy and later retired from Lockheed after 37 years. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Ollie Mae Thompson. He is survived by his daughters Olivia E. Smith of Rome, Patricia Lynn Thomas of Marietta, son Dan Thompson Jr. and wife Georganna of Kennesaw, brother Bill Thompson of Hapeville, grandchildren Jonathon Dunn, Lisa Garrett, Dan Dunn, Thomas Dunn, David Buchkowski, Julie Taylor, Josh Thompson and Melissa Thompson, grandchildren Kayla Lage, Ronnie Dunn, Steven Dunn, Thomas Dunn, Danielle Dunn, Krista Aiken, Butch Garrett, Michelle Garrett, Dean Dunn, Tara Dunn, T.J. Dunn, MacKenna Dunn, D.J. Taylor, Austin Taylor, Drew Buchkowski, Celeste Buchkowski, and Audrey Buchkowski, and great-grandchildren Nathan Dunn, Leland Dunn, Alley Bowman and Vennie Lage. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Georgia Memorial Park Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on today at the funeral home.
