Hubert H. "Andy" Anderson of Smyrna, Georgia died December 17, 2009. The funeral will be held at Carmichael Funeral Home of Smyrna at 11AM on Saturday, December 19th. Burial will be in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Visitation is today, Friday, December 18th from 6 to 8pm. Mr. Anderson was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a faithful member of the John Matthews Sunday School Class for over sixty years. He served in the US Army during World War II as a radio operator stationed in the Solomon and Fiji Islands. He was a Mason with the Hickory Flat Lodge for over sixty years. He retired from the US Postal Service with forty-two dedicated years as a postal clerk. Survivors include his wife, Ozelle, with whom he shared his 61st wedding anniversary on September 16, 2009. He is also survived by his son, Stan, of Atlanta, his daughter, Yvonne, of Smyrna, one brother, E.B. Anderson of Canton and one sister, Mildred Hayes of Smyrna. Andy is remembered by those who knew him best as a man of great humility; one who displayed both gentleness and compassion; a man with high integrity and someone who treated others with utmost respect. He was truly a man admired by many and one who was known to have never uttered an unkind word about anyone. His first and foremost love was for his family followed by his great love of gardening. Andy could be seen every March plowing his backyard garden in preparation for the many vegetables he would generously provide to those in the neighborhood.
I am so srry to hear about your sweet father. I have such wonderful childhood memories of both your parents at their loving home. May God keep you in his heart. Donna
