Monday Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives to reward the hordes of illegal aliens who made it past our Border Patrol Agents with legalization, jobs, public benefits and eventually the right to vote as citizens.

With the open borders lobby's usual shameless contempt for the intellect of the American people, Gutierrez is calling his bill "Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity."

The 2010 battle for repeating the "one-time" amnesty of 1986 has begun.

Don't expect the legislation to receive nearly as much attention from the media as Tiger Woods' love life. The hope is that we are too busy to remember that President Obama promised to deliver amnesty as part of his "Hope and Change" election campaign - or to consider that nagging detail about America's raging unemployment crisis.

The contrived talking point is that legalizing the current batch of job thieves would result in a "boon to American workers" and somehow "strengthen our economy."

I am not making this up.

America's unemployment rate dipped from 10.2 percent in October to 10 percent in November. Many economists put the actual unemployment rate at 17 percent. Using the most positive figures, about 16 million Americans are out of work.

While monitoring CNN last week, I heard a reporter tell viewers that there are at least six applicants for each available job. One pundit puts it this way: "Unemployment isn't just worse than Obama said it would be with the stimulus. It's even worse than he said it would be without the stimulus."

In addition to his recent "jobs summit" designed to get ideas on how to cut unemployment, the president has publicly promised to pursue "every additional and responsible step" to get America back to work.

Except, apparently, to stem the flow of illegal immigration and to remove the black market replacement labor from the workforce.

Obama could put about 8 million Americans in jobs next week if he would only enthusiastically enforce existing immigration and employment laws.

As a long-time American who studies the organized crime that is illegal immigration - which is directly related to U.S. unemployment (it is also directly related to national security, education, health care, public benefits, wasted tax dollars and the rule of law ... but that is another column) - let me share some facts Gutierrez and Obama hope you will never see. You are supposed to believe the fairy tale that our borders have been secured.

The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended 556,040 new "undocumented workers" illegally crossing our borders in Fiscal Year 2009, which ended Sept. 30. Optimistic official estimates are one in four or five illegal alien border crossers are captured at the border.

Do the math.

Statistics from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reveal significant drops in work site enforcement activity since last year. Administrative alien arrests (arrests of illegal aliens who will be placed into deportation proceedings) have dropped 68 percent. Nationwide, criminal arrests are down 60 percent, criminal indictments have fallen 58 percent and criminal convictions are down 63 percent.

Revealing his disregard for the American worker, Obama has rescinded the Bush administration's common sense "No-Match Rule" in which the Social Security Administration sent letters to employers when employees' names and Social Security numbers fail to match. The program required employers to take action - including termination - if notified that their employees did not have legal immigration status.

So much change ... in only one year!

In a November press release reflecting the view of the majority of Americans, Georgia's U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson criticized the Obama administration's intent to push amnesty this way: "Americans want to work; rewarding illegal aliens with the right to hold jobs will not improve the chances Americans have of finding jobs, paying their mortgages, and feeding their families. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to cease any discussion about enacting a legalization program that will only hurt U.S. workers and make it harder for law abiding citizens to weather this economic downturn."

There will never be a time when another amnesty is the answer, including in the current economic downturn and jobs shortage. The amnesty of 1986 actually increased illegal immigration and illegal employment.

It would have the same result today.

It is amazing how many cities and towns are filled with illegal immigrants in georgia. go off the marietta square, hwy 41, smyrna, roswell, gainesville, rome, cartersville. As a lawyer who is in court regularly it is amazing to see how many of the illegals are filling our court rooms and costing us translator fees and tying up our courts. Recently 3 were jailed for driving theeir cars down a one way street the wrong way. Not only wrong way was the issue...but who is selling them cars?? No insurance....the issues become worse and worse. Can we continue to finance theses people with our tax dollars? Their costs to us are enormous. When they crash into your loved ones ...they run back to mexico. The liberal media never states the legal status of the criminals also.

In 2010 elections , children born in this country of foreign national parents , born after 1991, will be voting in America's elections. Each year the numbers increase expenditiously.

The New World Order is marching swiftly towards completion.

Americans were willing to sell out their own brothers to save a buck or two a month on keeping their yards looking better than their neighbors.

South Cobb is a devastated 3rd world ( New World) community. People who got out were smart,... those , like me, that didn't,... are STUCK- (w/ valueless property ). Our elected officials either get money & government grants for having a population in poverty, or the other side of the coin,... draw the district lines to keep said poverty from encroaching into their well-to-do neighborhoods.

Any way you cut it, our political system is broken, our elected officials are a dishonest lot , our country is bankrupt & we have no borders any more.

Face it, the 25-30 million illegals that we can't track,... ain't leaving (whether they get amnesty or not)- this is their heaven!

And middle-class America, you can't compete w/ the 3rd world pay scale-(here OR China, India, etc.) .... the jobs AIN'T COMIN'BACK TO OUR SHORES!!!

RIP

When asked, most illegal aliens claim to have come here for the jobs. Not to immigrate, but for the jobs; and let's be honest: immigration and temporary foreign laborers are two seperate issues. One need not immigrate here to work here.

Even uneducated, unskilled, non-English speaking foreign laborers (with a valid passport from their country of origin in hand and after passing U.S. health and criminal bakcground checks) are able to legally work in our nation's massive agricultural industry via the numerically uncapped, non-immigrant, temporary agricultural worker H2A visa.

In good times (when Americans are generally fully employed) that visa is easily and quickly processable in order to meet the legitimate needs of American farmers--without adversely impacting low unemployment rates. Like all government programs, it is not without its faults, but is better than nothing. Those hired come here for a specified period of time, can bring their families with them (but not use U.S. social benefits), and need not fear those midnight immigration raids. In an ideal world, it helps keep those with criminal backgrounds and those carrying communicalble diseases from legal employment here.

In tougher times, the number of available visas can be reduced in order to allow Americans to set their sights a little lower and take those agricultural jobs.

But you'd never hear about the H2A visa (or any other non-immigrant, temporary worker visa from the open borders lobby; because the thought that we might learn about them terrifies Guttierez and others like him.

Indeed, it terrifies McCain, the National Black Caucus (who are selling out poor, unskilled American blacks with their support of the Guttierez bill), and a variety of other simple minded individuals and groups whose primary goal is votes, Uber Alles.

And the H2A visa is merely one of many.

My mom sent me this. They should just try to give citizenship to illegal immigrants..that would really do it. Better showing themselves than the health care fiasco.

I voted democrat. Small "d". But not open borders or amnesty for the illegals. What a world.

I will begin to read more about this now. Thank you MDJ.

The "One Time" amnesty of 1986 was a total failure and they want to repeat that disaster by using the same, tired, old lies? "We're really going get serious about enforcement. Trust us. We really mean it, this time. We're going pass all sorts of tough sounding laws" that won't be enforced the same as the last set of laws.

Why even bother with legal immigration when we allow millions to break in, hide out for few years, and them reward them for the total contempt they've shown for our laws, our borders and this nation?

THANK YOU, Mr. King. You've been fighting this battle for a long time and you've had an impact.

I am posting on my first blog! This issue really gfets me going because it is truly connected to all other "issues".

I just called all three Congresmen's offices who represent Cobb. Dr.s Tom Price and Phil Gingrey have made public statements against any legalization - as have both Senators.

Guess who has not come out in favor of enforceing the laws and protecting the American workers? The Dem congressman. The Dems are fooling no one.

I heve been told to get "engaged" in politics. Now I will. At age 72. I have had enough.

More on the No match rule:The Chamber of Commerce, along with a wide array of business groups, joined the ACLU in its challenge to the final implementation of the rule.

Follow the money and the anti-American agenda.

The ACLU, GALEO and La Raza opposed the No match rule. Enough said.

I predict that Obamanmesty bill will be the end of the Dem majority in Congress. And as a reformed Dem, I will put feet to my hope in order to change congress!

It is so sad that this treason is being attempted now, when our nation is in debt, our jobs have been outsourced and LEGAL immigrants number over one million per year - while Americans are struggling with underemployment and unemployment.

Back in the days of GWB and the Republican crooks, the cry was we need the workers. What sham can they pull now? Calling us racists?

So, we have to ask ourselves how and why our so called representatives refuse to represent us. They defy logic and are attempting to and succeeding in destroying our nation.

A bit of information on the "No-Match Rule" that King references:

"After years of controversy and litigation in the federal courts, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has rescinded the Bush administration’s 2007 Social Security “no-match” rule. Previously, implementation of the regulation was blocked by court order shortly after it was issued, and the regulation has never taken effect."

From an immigrant who is proud to have obeyed the law: THANK YOU MR. KING for the info. It is unbelievable that Obama would try to grant amnesty - but so is most of what he and the Dems have done recently.

I will fight amnesty too! No more mistakes like in 1986!

D.A. King says what most of us think and educates me on the details. Hooray Mr. King!

Obama is losing the health care swindle, will lose the amnesty treachery and the Dems will lose power in 2010. Everyone needs to help.

Illegal aliens are sucking America dry and need to be punished, not rewarded.

Mr. King has a lot of info on his Website. I send it to my family every week.

Tell it D.A. !

Thanks for the info. Most of us understand that Obama has debts to pay and that amnesty has nothing to do with what is right or good for America - it is just more politics and power grabbing. Amnesty for 20 million or so illegals would put people like Jerry Gonzlaez and Rich Pellegrino in power. Nobody wants that!

Employers who hire illegals deserve to go to jail.

Thanks to ther MDJ for having such great informative columnists.
