Gray sky beyond, bare trees shifting the in the wind,
It is rainy; a windy and rainy day today.
I look out thru the wall of glass ordered and organized
by the structure within and cypts beside.
Three significant views made by two columns flanking the double door.
Through the double door stand 7 Marines at attention.
Four Marines stand strong and proud by the casket draped in red, white and blue.
He can’t be gone, I talked to him Monday, there is still so much to do.
The trees still sway without any rhythm, some leaves still cling.
The continual stream of women moving forward to console Kay
then retreating to their seats, feels like the ebb and flow of the tide;
dependable, always there and with each wave some sorrow dissipates.
All these seats filled with family and friends who don’t want to say goodbye.
This room is full, but feels empty; he has touched our lives.
I’m thankful for his wisdom and dedication to calm perseverance;
now it makes sense, he is a Marine.
The gloom is still outside, it feels like the reflection in our soul.
21 gun salute to Ron,
and the trees stood still;
We recite psalm 23:4,
and the trees don’t move.
We say goodbye and we’ll miss you Ron;
we are united in our grief and walk away.
The rain has stopped and the trees standstill. A lone blackbird flys overhead.
Our prayers are with you and your family. We will miss Ron! Please call us if we can do anything for you.
Love,
Tommy and Laura
