DEAR EDITOR:I am proud to be a retired Navy chief petty officer who is preparing for Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
I'll be starting with the Veterans Day Parade in Marietta in the morning and finishing in the afternoon at Patriot's Point in Acworth.
Remembering our veterans should not be just one day a year. With wars on two different fronts our American freedom fighter serve 24 hours a day, 365 days a year protecting our rights.
I hope and pray that everyone in our are will remember what Veterans Day is all about.
Call your local VFW post and find a ceremony that you can attend; pray daily for our troops here and abroad; pray for their families; send a care package or donate to programs that support our troops and veterans, such as VFW Operation Uplink, www.operationuplink.org.
Take the time every day to remember the veterans who have fought for our freedom.

But we must demand elected officials to also do what THEY were elected to do & we need to expose & VOTE OUT the ones that are willing to turn our country into 3rd world status!
The direction this country is headed IS NOT what our veterns fought & died for!
