SMYRNA - Two brothers who were recently released from prison are back behind bars, suspected of committing a string of armed robberies that spanned the county and metro area.

Smyrna residents Derrius Lamonte Mack, 27, and Christopher Antonio Mack, 25, are being held in Cobb County Jail without bond, said Nancy Bodiford, spokeswoman for the Cobb Sheriff's Office.

Both men are charged with armed robbery, false imprisonment and aggravated assault in the Wednesday afternoon robbery of Kim's Cleaners at 1050 East Piedmont Road in east Cobb. Sgt. Dana Pierce said the assailants in that crime fled in a gold Chevrolet Cavalier, which police spotted on Thursday at a Marathon gas station on South Cobb Drive, where the pair were arrested.

Pierce said additional charges are pending against both brothers, who are suspected of similar crimes in recent weeks in Cobb, Marietta, Austell and Atlanta.

According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, Derrius Mack was released from prison in late August after serving nine years for armed robbery. His brother, Christopher, was released from prison in late September.

Christopher Mack has been in prison three times on charges ranging from theft to criminal damage.

Both brothers committed all of their previous crimes in Cobb County.
