DEAR EDITOR:

I would like to add my "YES" vote for the upcoming parks referendum. The City of Marietta came out on the short end of the stick with the county parks monies, even though we voted and paid a significant portion of what the county is benefiting from. Great for them, not so great for us.

If we need to create new parks and upkeep what we have, we need to do this ourselves. I have spoken with many people concerning the issues of this bond and I am hearing a resounding "YES" for what is proposed. It will benefit Marietta in both the short and long run. We have the opportunity to do something that will put people to work, beautify our city and increase property values of surrounding neighborhoods. Sounds like a winning combination!
