Cobb and Marietta officials have been negotiating for months about construction of a new parking garage across the street from the new Cobb Superior Court building. Meanwhile, the Downtown Marietta Development Authority is pushing for construction of a deck on what’s now a surface lot across the CSX Railroad tracks from the Marietta Welcome Center. Which one do you think would be more apt to be used by downtown shoppers? And would con-struction of a deck by the Welcome Center — even if it was designed to blend in with its surroundings — still be a visual blot on that side of town?
