DEAR EDITOR:

The ACLU is un-American and as a group, they make me nauseous. I am an immigrant. That separates me from illegal aliens because I came to this wonderful country according to the immigration laws. I am constantly offended when I see illegal aliens and the anti-enforcement nuts who feed on them use the term "immigrant" when they try to smear good and brave Americans like Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren and all of the brave law enforcement officers in Cobb. People who are criminals should fear law enforcement!

I wanted to say a big public thank you to Sheriff Warren and our local deputies and police for risking their lives to equally enforce the law. Thank you to the Board of Commissioners for supporting the use of 287(g). Thank you to immigration activist D.A. King and the MDJ for educating us on what is going on in our community with the ACLU and GALEO and amnesty.

I also must wonder how, in the most diverse nation in the world, someone can "look foreign born," as the ACLU has tried to say when they are busy smearing our brave police to further their sick, un-American idea of open borders. If you listen closely, you can hear their real argument: For our agenda, there is a group of people for whom the law should not apply - even drivers' license laws that result in illegal drivers killing Americans on our roads when violated.

I am ecstatic to learn that this 287(g) program in Cobb has resulted in the removal of nearly 7,000 illegal aliens who didn't get caught when they snuck across our borders. That means there are 7,000 less chances of them killing another American like young Dustin Inman, about 7,000 more chances for Americans and real immigrants to get a job and that our schools and hospitals are somewhat less strained. I was elated to see that Warren is sending even more deputies to be trained

I wish that the sheriff could go after the illegal employers who hire these criminals and cheat us out of wages and the English language in our own country.

If the ACLU is against the 287(g) program, it is something I will forever enthusiastically support. Not enforcing immigration laws in any community is simply a local amnesty.

A note on the ACLU: These folks are so out there on the far margins, they can't see how their sick opposition to 287(g) has helped us come together in Cobb County to support the same great Americans they strive to smear and to resist the real hate and race-baiting they spread. For that, I thank them.

If it wasn't for MDJ columnist D.A. King having the knowledge and courage to stand up to these nuts and educate us, we would not know the level of their real hatred of America. Please keep his columns coming. I share them with all of my friends and family.

God Bless America!

I am not a killer. And if you are unemployed is because globalization and competition has put you in that spot my friend. And even if you stop us from coming to the land that was stolen from us your big corporations will go to Indian, Latin-America, or any other foreign country to hire cheap labor. If there is no one here to exploit companies will go overseas.

Jose - saying it 100 more times won't make it true, or make our police stop law enforcement. The whole goal here is to make illegal laiens leave Cobb. So: pass it on: MOVE TO FULTON COUNTY or DEKALB COUNTY or ATLANTA where illegals are given sanctuary while citizens have their services cut.

Go anywhere, but if you are an illegal GET OUT!

Jose,... I feel safer in Cobb County now, w/ less criminal illegals running around freely. Sorry you don't. Hidden agenda, possibly?

Maria, you are way off. I am sorry to burst your bubble. Cobb County Police and Cobb County Sheriff actually are decreasing public safety in Cobb County. When a community does not trust the police, public safety decreases. That is community policing 101. Cobb County Police lied to the community members that tried to work with them. Cobb County Police actively go "Hispanic Hunting". Cobb County is the the bull's eye for anti-Latino and anti-immigrant rhetoric and sentiment. Cobb County is less safe due to the 287(g) agreement and Cobb County Police and Sheriff are to blame for this. Racial profiling is un-American and Cobb County should be ashamed.

I have never posted online before, but I have been reading a lot about illegal immigration. My brother lost his job because these illegals were hired at a lower wage.

Illegal anything is bad, but illegal immigration is killing our country and making us into a third world mess. We have no where to go.

I hope that everyone knows an amnesty will only bring more illegals until we are strangers in th enation our fathers left us. I will not be silent anymore and I am expecting our federal politicians to speak up on this...I hear nothing.

Great letter from a great addition to the USA.

Beautifully written, Maria. Seems you understand the foundation of this country more than many of our elected officials. We welcome everyone, from all countries & cultures,.... if you follow the guidelines & immigration laws to enter this country. You, Maria, would be considered a 'racist' in the city of Smyrna. So would Sheriff Warren. There is a frightening denial by many elected officials around here, of the conditions in their cities & in front of their very eyes, that they seem fearful to distinguish between 'legal' immigrants & 'illegal' immigrants. I am fearful of a government that fails to recognize the danger that 25-30 million (unidentified) persons who believe the laws AREN'T for them , create on our country & the American citizens who DO play by the rules. This country can only survive when elected officials quit being too chicken to stand for what is right!

From one legal immigrant to another - well said. I love my new country and I follow the laws and learned English, and work hard. Thank you Sheriff Warren.

THANK YOU

We agree with you Maria. Although I am not an immigrant, my grandparents were - legal, law abiding immigrants who became citizens when they enjoyed the freedoms they lost after the Ukraine fell to Communism. They came with papers, a promise from someone to support them if they needed help (not the government), money in their pocket to tide them over and clean physical. On the ship's roster for my grandfather, there was an entire family who was sent back because the father of that family had one leg shorter than the other. No separation of families - they were all sent back because the breadwinner was not considered in perfect health and may become a burden to citizens and taxpayers.

Being an American is not a right but a privilege. Too bad these treasonous employers - you all know who you are - are as anti-American as the ACLU.

Insofar as the ACLU is concerned, I hope our Sheriff and Cobb police sue the lovely Ms. Shahshahani and the village idiot Pellegrino for slander for their false accusations.

Ms. Litland is not alone. I am also an immigrant who is in support of Sheriff Warren and 287 G.

Anything that rids Cobb of illegals is good for cobb.

It is time to ask why the smyrna city jail is not using 287 G.

HOORAY for a real immigrant and her courage to speak up!

Thank you Ms. Litland for reminding us that immigrants are here legally and that great Americans lile Mr. King and sheriff Warren need to be honored.

ACLU: I ( like most Americans) AGREE WITH THIS WOMAN...whatever her original place of birth. Doesn't that just drive you more crazy?
