EAST COBB — Walton High and Dodgen Middle schools were locked down for about an hour Monday morning after gunshots were fired on nearby Glasgow Road during a possible robbery attempt, police said.

Police say two men armed with handguns approached a man after he got into his car in his driveway off Glasgow Road in east Cobb at around 9:50 a.m.

The men “rushed at the victim,” and he fled in his vehicle, Officer Joe Hernandez said.

“However, the offenders fired several shots into his vehicle,” Hernandez said. “The victim was not shot, but he sustained a minor cut on his face due to shattered glass. The victim refused treatment at the scene.”

Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said authorities are searching for the men, who fled in a white Dodge car. The victim owns businesses in downtown Atlanta and police are looking at some of his current and past business associates, Pierce said.

Pierce said Cobb Police notified school officials of the situation and advised them to lock down Walton and Dodgen. Anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
