School board slapped with restraining order ...
Please define circus wrote - Who does board member John Crooks think he is? His use of the word "circus" says it all. Concerned citizens showing disapproval is not a circus, it is how we do things in a free country. He ain't seen nothin' yet.
Fed up wrote - At a time when we are going to the state to increase class size, count the hours instead of days the kids are in school, cut teachers salaries and supplies and dip into our rainy day reserves, we have enough money to go to court and fight something that John Crooks was wrong to do and John Abraham and all other board members were wrong to allow and participate in. I say, take the lawsuit dollars out of the board members' pocket. This happened in the same meeting where the board was supposed to prove how transparent they were. Right!
Council candidate in arrears on Kennesaw House ...
B.J. wrote - Whatever it takes to get the back rent. Money is owed and Godwin owes it. This "swindler" should be kicked out of Cobb County for good. Sent back to Alpharetta where he lives. He does not belong where good people live. How much of this do we have to see from Godwin to finally get "enough"!
Connie Mack Jr. wrote - The mayor said he spoke with DMDA Chairman Tom Browning, who told him that if Godwin owed money, he would collect it. So is Tom going to break Godwin's legs in front of the mayor on the Square to make sure the alleged deadbeat pays up or will Tom waterboard Godwin in the Square's fountain to make the former Republican Mayor happy with the new and amazing Republican collection methods?
Too Much wrote - Godwin makes Joe Isuzu look honest.
Ward 4 resident wrote - I have not heard anything from this candidate regarding an actual platform, and although he claims that residents of this ward have encouraged him to run, I have yet to spot one of his campaign signs in anyone's yard or heard anyone touting his candidacy. Do qualifying documents filed with the BOE list a treasurer or chairperson? I'm just wondering if he has any actual supporters.
Local representatives vote to defund ACORN ...
Bbokoo143 wrote - Remember Reps. John Lewis and David Scott next election. They both voted to keep funding ACORN.
Mellieb wrote - It is about time our representatives that we elected stand up and make things right. This organization is as rotten as a compost heap. I am tired of my tax money going to such an organization.
RayG wrote - It's nice to have a scapegoat to bash even if no wrongdoing was found by the leadership. We should be consistent and not do any business with any organization that has employees who do anything wrong. Hail Glenn Beck!
Steve Rhinehart wrote - So RayG, may we assume it is your position that it is OK for an organization to hire people who register dead people to vote, counsel people on how to skirt the law and advise prostitutes that it is "OK, just don't get caught" as long as management does not personally do it? I love your morality. Remind me to keep you away from my grandchildren who are being taught to be honorable and law abiding citizens.
OldFed wrote - I certainly hope that Gov. Perdue and all others involved in awarding state money via contracts and grants remember that "ACORN's" new name is "Community Organizations International."
Facility Group housecleaning ...
Good Riddens wrote - Bob Moultrie's bad decisions and huge ego along with his wife's huge ego ruined this decent company that employed decent hard working people. The economy had nothing to do with what happened to them. Cheryl and Robert Moultrie are what happened. Greedy until the very end. I feel very sorry for all the loyal employees who held on to the company and now probably will have a terrible time finding a job.
Economy really?? wrote - The economy has nothing to do with The Facility Groups problems. TFG's problems are due to "corporate misbehaviors." Facility Group had enough work lined up ($600 million) to get them through this bad economy. These contracts were lost due to the "illegal campaign contribution" that Mr. Moultrie plead guilty to. I do not agree with what happened to Mr. Moultrie and TFG. However, blaming the economy and "firing" people who have been loyal to this company during this nightmare is sickening.
