DEAR EDITOR:

Re: Loretta Vitale letter, "Tired of eatery's hatred," Sept. 12 MDJ

I am writing this in response to a letter sent to you by a very confused lady concerning my sign board in front of Mulligan's Food and Spirits concerning the passing of Ted (the cowardly drunk) Kennedy. If Ms. Vitale would do a little research, she could possibly discover what I have known for 40 years. Kennedy left a young woman to die a horrible death, did nothing to try to save her, went home and waited 10 hours before reporting the accident, giving himself time to sober up. He called his lawyer first.

What an awful way to die and what a cowardly subhuman it would take to let that happen. No, I won't miss Ted Kennedy. Ms. Vitale made comments about the conservative Christians disdaining my comments about the passing of a charlatan, womanizing liar. I would venture to say that by and large they would agree that Kennedy broke about all the Ten Commandments, which we all need to live by. I know this because I also am a Christian.

In closing, let me say that if you find hate in my humble little eatery you brought it with you. And remember, racism is mostly self-inflicted.

Still saying' out loud what most folks whisper. ...

Mike Norman
Owner, Mulligan's Food and Spirits

Another Christian - there is a difference inn judging and just stat ing facts. Of course, I know facts can be kind of hard for some to swallow, but everything Mr. Norman says is true - proven to be true by many many investigations. I have patronized Mulligan's many times, and have found those there to be every day people - not spouting hatred, but just want to live and let live - although most wish the government would just let them live and get out of the way.

Mike, you put whatever you want on your sign-you own it, after all. You have a right to put it up, just as I have the right to not patronize your place. I'm sorry to read that you think you're a Christian. I seem to remember some parts in the New Testament about not judging lest we be judged and failure to worry about the great planks in our own eyes. I'm sorry that your need to hate is so great. I will pray for you.

Right on, Mike!! Don't you love how people condemn that with which they disagree, in the name of Christianity? Depends on whose Christianity you want to look at, but there is a long list of things condemned, based on intolerance, personal preference, brainwashing and a host of othere things, except scripture. Dancing, card playing, beer drinking, modern medical treatment, gay relationships, missing church, not giving enough money, ect. all have been condemned and continue to be condemned in the name of Christianity.

Ted Kennedy's death reduced, by one, the number of threats to the American way of life. The names of the big three remaining dangers to the continuation of our Republic and the ideals upon which it was founded, all begin with the letter

"O" , OSAMA, OBAMA and OPRAH.

Exactly. You pay the taxes and this wingbat thinks she can dictate your sign. To defend Kennedy makes her more subhuman than he was.
