Mrs. JoAnn Pesco Yorio, age 59 of Marietta, GA, entered into eternal life Monday, September 14, 2009 after a valiant battle with cancer. JoAnn graduated with a nursing degree from St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan and practiced nursing for 15 years. She then joined the Cobb County School System as a paraprofessional at Milford Elementary School. She was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and served as a Eucharistic minister. This past August she fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel in Rome. She was a devoted wife of 35 years to Joseph Yorio; loving mother to Jennifer (& husband, Lawrence) Zimmerman of Marietta, GA, Stephanie (& her husband John) Perrone of Kennesaw, GA; and a loving grandmother to Charlotte Rose Zimmerman. She was daughter to Rose Pesco of Babylon, NY and Loreto Pesco (deceased) and is also survived by her sister, Jeanette (& husband John) Bates of So. Farmingdale, NY; nephews, Matthew and Thomas Bates; and brother-in-law, Anthony Yorio (& wife Denise) of Marietta, GA. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, GA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Susan G.
