Myrle Larsen of east Cobb celebrated her 90th birthday on Sept. 5 with family. Born in Chicago as Myrle Reinlie, she met her husband, John Larsen, now deceased, at the end of the Depression as WWII was breaking out. In 1961, the couple and their three children moved from Pennsylvania to Winder.

In the early '80s, after a move back North, the Larsens returned to the South to retire in east Cobb, but retirement didn't last long. Myrle re-entered the business world as a bookkeeper and taught herself how to use a computer. Seven years later, she finally retired and returned to early loves: family, oil painting, gardening and bird watching.

Family attending the birthday were: daughter Sandy Larsen Bruce, with her husband, Ted; and granddaughter Valerie Bruce Revis with great-grandson, James; grandson Jason Bruce with daughter-in-law Amy; daughter Linda Larsen White with son-in-law Garrett and granddaughter; Sarah White Soundron with son-in-law Agnel and great-granddaughters Pearl, Evangeline and Agnesse; grandson Andrew White with daughter-in-law Alejandra; and son Mac Larsen with daughter-in-law Marcia.
