KENNESAW - Dave Mann carried the ball 14 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns, and visiting Our Lady of Mercy continued the woes for North Cobb Christian with a 26-0 win over the Eagles.

"(Our Lady of Mercy) did a really good job of keeping pressure on our quarterback" said North Cobb Christian coach Harry Miles. "Regardless, we just have to learn to step it up in the face of pressure."

Despite accumulating 12 penalties for 105 yards, OLM controlled the field position and ball possession for most of the night.

The Bobcats got a big play from punter Kyle Sharp when he pinned a 57-yard punt at the Eagles' 2 yard line.

Three plays later, North Cobb Christian quarterback Eddie Denovellis was intercepted by cornerback Lance McGuthrie, and it set up the first of Mann's three scoring runs, a 4-yard dive 5 minutes into the game.

The game's key play came in the 3rd quarter, with Denovellis leading the Eagles into Bobcats' territory.

With Our Lady of Mercy up 12-0, Miles called for a long field goal attempt to put his squad on the scoreboard.

Sharp showed off more of his special teams talent as he broke through the North Cobb Christian line, blocked the kick, and returned it 76 yards to extend Our Lady of Mercy's lead. Sharp also added the extra point, and the Bobcats held a comfortable 19-0 lead.

"I don't know if there was one play that truly made the difference," added Miles, "But we had some turnovers that killed us and obviously that blocked field goal was huge for them."

After allowing Chas Collett and the NCC rushing attack to maintain extended possessions in the first half, the OLM defense clamped down and only gave up one first down to the Eagles for the rest of the game.

The highlight of Mann's workmanlike performance was a 70 yard touchdown run midway through the 4th quarter, the last of his three scoring plays.

Mann broke through the line of scrimmage and out ran the entire NCC defense down the right sideline and put finishing touched on a hard-fought victory for the Bobcats.

Even with North Cobb Christian now holding an 0-3 record on the season, Miles maintains a competitive spirit.

"I expect us to hit the field Monday and work our tails off to get ready for next week." said Miles. "I tell them all the time, I don't care where we are or what's going on, we're going to keep working hard for each other."
