Speech critics McCarthy-like

DEAR EDITOR:

History will judge the reaction of our county toward an uplifting message from the president of the United States to challenge our students as paranoid and prejudiced. I am disappointed that a message from our nation's leader commands a lower priority than a football season pep rally!

Students are subjected to guest speakers from the community on a regular basis with no screening for content of their speech or parental permission required to listen i.e.: career day. Please stand up to the McCarthy era thinking!

Tia, you're forgetting that McCarthy is seen as a great American by a lot of those people.

Nah, it's all cool. Obama set them up and they fell for it. They screamed and stamped their feet about "stay in school," so now when they do it some more about health care, they have already been revealed for what they are, and nobody will waste any more time on them.
