David Franklin Rogers, 50, of Powder Springs passed away on Saturday, September 5th. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lake Lemmons Rogers; a daughter, Kristi Lake Rogers; a son Jess Harrison Rogers; father and step-mother William J. (Bill) and Mary Ann Rogers of Marietta; brother Bill Rogers (Judy) of Columbia, SC; brother Tony Rogers (Susie) of Marietta; sister, Jennifer Rogers Ellison (Johnny) of Tyrone; 9 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeane Blackstock Rogers. David, a native of Atlanta, graduated from Wheeler High School (class of 1977) and Georgia State University. He has been employed by Delta Air Lines for 28 years, most recently as Manager of Information Technology. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at Mayes Ward-DobbinsFuneral Home. Services will be held Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Officiating will be Dr. Jim Ellison. David will be cremated following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, Cobb County Unit, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., #280, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
