Jeffery L. Griffin, 57, of Holly Springs, NC died August 22nd at Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Marietta, GA on August 20th, 1952 to the late Joseph Earl and Alice Anthony Griffin. Jeffery graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna, GA class of 1970, and Columbia Bible College in 1976 with Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Education. He later graduated from Wheaton College in 1981 with a Master of Arts in Theology. He served as pastor at First Baptist Church Buchanan, GA, Cross Roads Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA, and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cary, NC. Jeff also served on the staff at New Horizons Fellowship Apex, NC. He worked as a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed and The MONY Group. He participated in Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity as an honorary member at ECU as well as advisor to the the newly chartered chapter at UNC-CH. Jeff is survived by his wife Kay of 31 years, sons, Joseph Samuel of Raleigh, NC, Justin Claybourne of Athens, GA and Andrew Hamilton of Raleigh, NC. He is survived by his brother Gregory and wife Beth of Marietta, GA, sister Cynthia Hessler and husband Robert of Acworth, GA, sister Constance Jenkins and husband Tony of Asheville, NC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29th at 3:00 p.m. at New Horizons Fellowship in Apex, NC.
