Calling illegals 'illegals' does not 'dehumanize' them

DEAR EDITOR:

Including my wife, who is a legal immigrant, at our house we grow weary of the despicable habit of those on the left who associate nearly every victimized group in history with the illegal aliens who have no respect for American laws. Except, of course those laws that give them free medical care, education, translation and virtual immunity from punishment for invading our nation. They, along with those who employ them should be punished so severely that they stop their crime spree.

Mark Webb's Friday letter ("Don't muddy health fix with anti-illegals hysteria) aimed at D.A. King and "ObamaCare" is quite similar to many others I have read from people who will stop at nothing when attacking those who pay attention, have the courage to speak up and want illegal immigration to end by securing the border and enforcing the law instead of by opening our borders and granting amnesty.

No matter what they say I don't trust the liberals in Congress or Obama as far as I could toss them on a windy day. Especially not on immigration or health care. Particularly not when I can see that they will not allow any meaningful check of who may end up with taxpayer funded public health insurance as proposed by Obama. Illegals are scammers and have massive support from the left. With that help, they would soon learn how to scam the national health care system to get even more medical benefits than they are now.

I am grateful for King's insightful and useful columns. They provide me with news and facts that seem to be missing from the daily media reports. I need only to look around Cobb County to see that he is correct.

Another thing about Webb's letter: he says that the Dustin Inman Society was a group that was "successful in scuttling President Bush's 2004 plans for reform of our immigration laws and continue to demonize the undocumented today."

"Comprehensive Immigration Reform" is code for legalization and constantly increased immigration until we have open borders and everyone knows it.

I agree that the Dustin Inman Society helped stop the Bush amnesty plans. Good for them. I am grateful for that great work and King should be proud.

Stopping Bush in "2004" was admirable - even if the Dustin Inman Society wasn't formed until 2005. I hope they stop Obama-amnesty too. I will help them.

Pointing out, as King often does, that illegals are illegal, that no group should be above the law and that Mexico deports nearly as many illegals each year as we do is not "dehumanizing" to most of us. Don't be hysterical.

Webb's letter was a template from the La Raza/ACLU crowd. We should expect to see many more of them.

The key to illegal immigration is SUPPLY and DEMAND; employers are the solution. Laws should be enforced and/or the consequences for hiring “undocumented” workers should be so severe employers would never “risk” the ramifications of breaking these laws. If there are NO jobs then there is no “American Dream” for the illegal immigrant only for the law abiding immigrant.

Pedro, you genius: He means that she did not dehumanize herself or make herself a criminals by sneaking over our border, stealing ID and documents than lying to the world on her way to stealing the American Dream we have fought for.

He means that she came legally and would not have come otherwise simply to make more money that at home and sponge off us Americans.

HE MEANS SHE IS A REAL IMMIGRANT...NOT AN INVADER WHO SCREAMS "RACIST" AT PEOPLE WHO WANT ENFORCMENT OF OUR LAWS AND CONTROL OF THEIR OWN COUNTRY!

Pedro - you are not really a genius, I just like to make you think so for a spilt second.

Mr. Litland doesn't have to call his wife 'a legal'. He calls her a lawabiding country loving respectful admireable woman!

If calling them Illegals is not dehumanizing, why you don't call your wife a Legal? You are so full of it your head is going to esplode!

I see this online. It is important that everyone knows that most of us who came to this great country legally are not thinking like Mr. Webb or the La Raza people.

I came legally and so my family, we are also called names by the illegals if we speak out for the law and legal crossings."Coconut"

Soon, the U.S. will be like Mexico if something is not done to stop the illegal crossings. We must try to stop the bosses from hiring the undocumented or we will loose our country.

Here, here, John! What an excellent letter. The La Raza-nistas are broken records & the MORE that moral, honest & patriotic Americans like yourself (who love the truth & abhor such liars) call them out in public for their mendacious tactics, then the LESS power will they have to use these tactics successfully. Bill W is mistaken that this is a waste of time. Sunshine is a great fungicide and that is why exposure dries up this sort of pond scum so well! They are not a "small fringe minority", Bill. Have you checked how big & well-funded The Nat'l Council of the Race is?? I come from CA & grew up with their ilk around me. They are the parent sponsor of MeChA which is now a nationwide radical Reconquista group, radicalizing school campuses in YOUR neighborhood, not just those in CA anymore. Don't be so complacent & naive!

Great letter - but constantly explaining to people like Webb that they are in the small fringe minority is a waste of time. Part of the reason they are where they are is that they cannot reason.

We are lucky to have D.A. King in Georgia, as he has the courage to stand up to these nuts and to the ones in government and business.

It's just a crying shame. There are very few politicians that won't turn a blind eye when driving past illegals working on a road project, building a beautiful stone wall or preparing their plates on the kitchen line. Whether left or right, none of them will really demand that the laws we already have on the books be enforcrd. In Georgia , we should be @ the top dog, Sonny Perdue's house (er, mansiom) EVERYDAY! Why is HE allowing Georgias laws to be so flagrently ignored & laughed at? D.A. King represents real American's like Billy & Kathy Inman, whose life was destroyed when their only son was killed by an 'illegal' & has also left Kathy in a wheelchair for life. Poor Billy & Kathy. I don't see any local news teams or the goverment rushing to help ease their pain any & help them w/ their hospital & doctor bills. I , as American who had to move away from MY home , to get away from a neighborhood in Smyrna destroyed by boarding houses & meth labs thank D.A. King who spoke out for me,... but WHERE were the politicians & lawmakers? The best Smyrna could do when an American points out reality is call this American a racist & arrest me @ a townhall, for speaking the truth. Now we have COMMUNIST czars in our white house, a government AGAINST the American people & politicians not willing to stand for Americans! Bravo to D.A,. What would we do w/out you? When will Americans realize, it's OK to protect your own country from harm?

Exactly the sentiment of the legal Americans and well said. We are in serious trouble in our country, and the illegal invasion paved the way for our financial meltdown. We were told many times that our economy depended on the illegal labor, yet that has proven false. They are here and everywhere, yet it certainly is not helping our econonmy but burdening it. Now we are told that we are mean, or racist, if we want illegal immigrants gone and their employers in jail. Why? Because we want taxpayers to prosper to support our economy? Without the enormous expense of schooling their far too many children, providing free healthcare and many other social program benefits, cost of jailing the far too many criminals, we could afford to pay for the health and wellbeing of our citizens, military and seniors. Illegals are an enormous expense on multiple government levels: city, county, state and federal. Exactly how do you think they can afford to send many billions back to their home country yet continue to have big families? We all know how - the stupidity of the US taxpayer.
