Police say the mother of four was found shot outsider her home just after 4 p.m. Saturday.
Neighbors said the woman lived with a police officer. He wasn't home at the time of the shooting.
Police haven't identified the woman and weren't releasing any further information during the investigation.
District 5 County Commissioner Lee May lives nearby. He said he heard the shots. He said residents are concerned but have noticed more police in the area since the shooting.
