FAIRBURN - Police say a man was shot during an early-morning home invasion in south Fulton County.

Fulton police spokeswoman Melissa Parker said five men broke in through a downstairs window of 29-year-old Carl Lingham's home near Fairburn's Creekside High School around 1:40 a.m. Monday.

The men went to an upstairs bedroom and threw bleach on Lingham. Parker said a fight broke out and Lingham was shot in the thigh as he dove through an upstairs window to escape.

Parker said Lingham also suffered injuries in the fall. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Parker said Lingham's girlfriend, mother and four kids were also in the home but weren't injured.

The intruders also took Lingham's green 2000 Ford Windstar minivan.
