MARIETTA - Cobb and Marietta Police are interviewing a man that has been linked to multiple home invasions in the county.

Officers arrested Barry Lee Henderson, 24, Friday after he was seen trying to climb a privacy fence at Ivy Ridge Apartments in Marietta. He is being held at Cobb County Jail, Officer Joe Hernandez said.

Hernandez said a resident from the apartment complex, at 2650 Bentley Road, called 911.

Investigators have linked Henderson to two additional home invasions in the area so far.

On July 28, police said two roommates from Madison Hills Apartments, at 2560 Delk Road, awoke to a man wielding a hammer in their apartment.

One of the roommates secured herself in her room after seeing the man, and the other jumped out of a second-story window. She was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Hernandez said.

Henderson is also connected to a robbery at Wood Hollow Apartments, 1818 Powers Ferry Road on July 8, Hernandez said.

Cobb Police have charged Henderson with loitering and prowling, criminal trespass, burglary, armed robbery, aggravated sexual battery, false imprisonment and robbery. The police department may file additional charges against him, Hernandez said.

Officer Jenny Murphy said Marietta Police have not filed charges against Henderson at this time.

"The cases we have are still under investigation. We will probably have a few more cases on him when the investigation pans out," she said. "We are continuing to work on the case with the Cobb Police Department."

Henderson's mug shot will not be released until police complete their investigation on the home invasions, Hernandez said.
