Local student graduates from Candler School of Theology

COBB COUNTY - Harrison High School graduate Erik A. Mays recently graduated from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University with a Master of Divinity degree on May 11. In addition to seminary, he also received an AA at Reinhardt College in Religion, where he was the SGA treasurer, a member of the Judicial Committee and a Freshman orientation guide.

After graduation from Reinhardt, he served on the Reinhardt Board of Governors. He received a BA in Religion and Philosophy at LaGrange College. He served one year at Smyrna United Methodist Church as youth director until moving to Covington First United Methodist Church in Covington.

While at Covington United Methodist Church he served as Youth Minister, he went to seminary full time for three years. He has accepted a job at Murrell's Inlet, S.C., as director of youth ministries.
