The 3.1-mile race, which will start and finish at the office park, will begin at 7:30 a.m. The main race will be followed by a 1-mile fun run at 8:15 a.m. and a tot trot at 8:30 a.m. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Around 500 runners are expected to participate in this year's event, an increase from the 150 that the race attracted each of the last two years.
"We had 150 last year, and we've picked up 350 more so far (this year), so we're really excited about that," race official John Furman said.
Registration is still available online at www.active.com and until the end of the day today at the Big Peach Running Company store at 1062 Johnson Ferry Road in east Cobb. Race-day registration will be available beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday
The race fee is $20 for pre-race registration and $25 for race-day registrants, or for phantom runners who are unable to participate, but still want to support the event.
Proceeds from the race will benefit a variety of charities throughout Cobb County.
This year, the East Cobb Rotary Club has raised $26,500 for Cobb charities and the club's goal is to at least match the $30,000 it raised in 2008.
"We're in a tough economy right now and we're so fortunate that we have so many folks stepping up to the plate and sponsors contributing," Furman said.
Awards will be given out to the overall male and female winners, the top male and female finishers in the masters (40-and-over) division and the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 10-and-under to 70-and-over.
Parking will be available at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, which is across the street from Crossing Center Northwest Office Park.
In last year's race, Marietta's Michael Strickland was the men's winner with a time of 17 minutes, 17 seconds. Rome's Jill Horst was the women's winner in 18:12.
