The Lady Hoyas, who lost to Walton in the championship match of Saturday’s Cobb County Tournament, beat Kennesaw Mountain (25-6, 25-6), McEachern (25-5, 25-7) and North Paulding (25-10, 25-19).
Katie Doering finished the night with 29 kills, with Caroline Ostman adding 20. Kaylee Morris had 68 assists, with Sarah Talyor contributing nine aces.
Jocelyn Mahayag’s 14 digs led the defensive efforts, with Ostman adding nine and Camryn Bihary eight. Doering had 5½ blocks, to Abby Moss’ 3½.
Harrison (24-1, 3-0) will face Columbus on Friday as part of the Lovett Block Party.
North Cobb sweeps quad-match: The Lady Warriors swept through Hillgrove (25-22, 26-24), Marietta (25-7, 25-6) and Osborne (25-1, 25-2) in Area 4AAAAAA play.
Savanna Gonzales had 13 kills and Shannon Callen finished with nine aces. Taylor Parrish had 31 assists and seven aces, Christina Matacotta finished with 17 digs and seven aces and Jenna Woodruff added 13 aces and eight kills.
The Lady Warriors (15-6) will travel to Mobile, Ala., this weekend to compete in the McGill-Toolen Dirty Dozen Invitational.
Pope 8, Sprayberry 0 (6 inn.): Kelly Barnhill threw her second consecutive no-hitter to lift Pope to the non-region win at home.
Barnhill (7-2) struck out 14 and didn’t allow a walk in the six-inning triumph. She also batted 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the fifth.
The Lady Greyhounds (9-4) totaled 13 hits.
Megan Metzinger was 3-for-4 with a RBI and a double, Samantha Crabtree batted 2-for-3 and scored twice and Caelyn Dougherty went 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Lindsey Monkiewicz, Lauren Palace and Shawna Finister each had an RBI.
Pope will travel to Region 5AAAAAA foe Wheeler today, while Sprayberry (5-5) is at Region 7AAAAA foe North Springs.
Walker 14, North Cobb Christian 4 (6 inn.): After falling behind 4-0, Walker responded with an eight-run fourth inning and five-run sixth to claim the Region 6A road game.
Katlin Seger batted 3-for-3 with a double, two walks and four RBIs to pace the Lady Wolverines (3-5, 3-2). Kenzie Hollis was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Ashley Cranfill went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Nicole Simon also had an RBI.
Walker sent 13 batters to the plate in the fourth, producing eight runs off four hits and six walks.
Rae Syrop (3-0) allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out nine in 4 1/3 innings of relief for Walker.
Annabelle Bridges had a RBI for North Cobb Christian, which will host Mount Pisgah Christian today.
Walker is at Trion today.
Johnson Ferry 42, New Creation 0: Dewan Warbington accounted for 217 yards of offense in the Saints’ shutout victory.
Warbington ran for 164 yards, adding another 53 from receptions. He also scored twice.
Luke Jarrett (nine tackles, forced fumble), David Fortune (eight tackles, fumble recovery) and Jackson Smith (three sacks, fumble recovery) led the defensive efforts. Defensive tackle River Armour intercepted a pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown.
Johnson Ferry (2-0) will host Skipstone Academy for a Sept. 12 game at Sprayberry.
