Cobb County-based Highland Commercial Bank, which is celebrating 10 years of serving the county, kicked-off their year-long celebration by having the officers and staff accept the Ice Bucket Challenge, and calling out all other community banks in Georgia, the Georgia Bankers Association and the Community Bankers Association to join the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

“Community Banks are the backbone of our local economies. Helping small businesses grow and helping folks achieve their financial dreams is what we are all about,” said James Powell, chairman/CEO of Highland Commercial Bank. “The Ice Bucket Challenge has already raised more than $31 million dollars to fight ALS and we are proud to be a part of the challenge.”

Highland Commercial Bank is a full service community bank with offices at 3411 Ernest Barrett Parkway in Marietta and 1298 Concord Road in Smyrna.
