Trinity Chapel, a Christian church serving Powder Springs, Hiram, Marietta and west Cobb, will be having its second “Take Over” event today at 9 a.m. at the Carrie Steel-Pitts Home in Atlanta.

The event will benefit a local orphanage with a day of food, fun and fellowship. The “Take Over” is an outreach project that brings together the student youth ministries of both Trinity Chapel and Oasis Church in an effort to reach their community. The program is designed to inspire unconditional love in a way that focuses on serving and giving back

The two youth groups will surprise the children at the Carrie Steel-Pitts Home by sending them on an outing the morning of the event. While away, the students will “Take Over” the property, setting up food and activities. When the young people of the orphanage return home, they’ll be greeted with a host of surprises, including donated items from local businesses that have been raised for the current school year, presented to them in a dramatic “Extreme Home Makeover” type reveal.

Carrie Steel-Pitts’ home is at 667 Fairburn Road NW, Atlanta.
