Cobb police have linked a Stockbridge man to a homicide that took place in Marietta earlier this year.

Johnathan Allan Wheeler, 31, has been charged with aggravated assault and murder in connection to the death of Jerry Moore.

Police say Moore, who was 46, was found stabbed to death in his home on Gracewood Drive in Marietta on Jan. 27.

Wheeler is in custody in Macedonia, Ohio, on unrelated charges.

He previously served nine years in a Georgia prison after being convicted of armed robbery, aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery in 2000, according to the state department of corrections.

The investigation continues into Moore’s death. Anyone with information about it is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
